Oh my goodness, I'm so excited to share one of those newlywed sessions where I just had to grin the WHOLE WAY THROUGH! The light! The dress! And a couple who, despite claiming to be camera shy, were such a delight to photograph.

I had been looking forward to Carolyn and Cam's big day for a while, as they came across as complete darlings in our emails and chats throughout the year. We knew that covid might effect their big day even back in the summer, but of course didn't know it would still be so restricted. Numbers were cut back dramatically to accommodate the 20 person rule, but Carolyn never once complained and on their wedding day they both radiated with suppressed nerves, excitement and above everything, joy.

Young love at its finest!

Their ceremony, taken by their minister and friend Christiaan, was a heartfelt and personal celebration of their love and their faith, and also featured three beautiful songs of praise, which had been recorded by Caroyln's friend Sara in Australia.

This was the second time I've experienced pre-recorded, personal songs played out during a lockdown wedding and both have been truly wonderful moments. I know everyone present at both ceremonies have desperately wanted to join in the music and praise, but sitting and really listening and being part of the music has been an emotional experience for everyone present.

I often have to catch my own emotions during special ceremonies, and Sara's contribution to her friend's day was just stunning. A link to her work is included in the suppliers list below.

And I am SO GLAD Carolyn had shyly asked me if it was ok to go to Loch ness for their photos (!)

Dores is important to their family, and on the day it definitely didn't disappoint. The whole drive over from the Drumossie I was glancing up at the sun and praying it didn't disappear behind the hills of Abriachan, but in the end we were blessed with a truly magnificent sunset across the water and all the golden light I could ask for to capture some beautiful moments for this lovely young couple.

We left the beach completely buzzing (and freezing!)

Carolyn & Cam, thank you again for asking me to be part of your day.

It was an honour and a pleasure and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
