As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to capture love stories at this venue for many years now and every time, I’m impressed with the venue’s charm and flexibility, making it one of my absolute favourites.
Whether you’re planning an intimate celebration with your closest friends and family or a larger gathering, Daviot Steading will be a beautiful backdrop for your special day.
The converted farm steading has fields on almost all sides, with tall green grasses transforming into beautiful golden fields in the late summer and Autumn - both are a treat for couples’ photos. The open landscape means we can make the most of the beautiful Highland light throughout the day. Whether it's soft morning sunshine, dramatic skies, or that magical golden-hour glow just before sunset, there are endless opportunities to create natural, romantic images.
If you don’t want to leave your guests for too long, this is a perfect venue, as the surrounding landscape is perfect for exploring together whilst I snap away, without straying too far from the party.
One of my favourite spots to take couples is the tree lined boulevard leading through the grounds. It’s beautiful in every season, although Autumn holds a special place in my heart with the boulevard’s vibrant colours bringing warmth to photographs. It’s one of those spots that offers something different every time I visit but consistently acts as the perfect spot for relaxed portraits.
Another thing I love about this venue is their flexibility. The converted 19th century farm steading can accommodate anything from small intimate gatherings to bigger parties of up to 200 people. For small and medium weddings, their pagoda is perfect – a beautiful space with lots of natural light. And for larger gatherings, they also offer a marquee outside with plenty of space for dinner and dancing. The spaces are elegant, versatile and provide a blank canvas to tailor to your own vision.
As well as flexibility, Daviot Steading offer warm and accommodating hospitality. Finding your perfect wedding venue is about so much more than the setting. You want to know you and your guests will be well cared for by friendly people. This is certainly the case for this venue. Daviot’s staff are always incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to ensure your special day runs smoothly.
Their food is also always delicious and you have the option of two carefully selected catering partners who will work with you to produce a menu to fit your needs and complement your day. Both companies share a commitment to providing fresh and locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
Great food can make such a difference to the overall wedding experience, and it's clear that the team at Daviot take pride in delivering a high standard of catering.
Whilst not owned by the same company, the Dairy at Daviot offers stunning onsite 4-star accommodation. You've got the choice of six cottages, which are all part of the original steading building and make up the buildings surrounding the courtyard. They have large living/dining spaces with huge archway windows - perfect for big groups getting ready and beautiful light for portraits.
If you’re considering choosing Daviot Steading for your wedding venue, I can wholeheartedly recommend. It’s a venue that provides character, charming surroundings, flexibility and warm hospitality. There are ample opportunities for beautiful, natural portraits both inside the Steading and of course, in the surrounding landscapes.
And if you've chosen Daviot Steading for your wedding day, I'd absolutely love to help capture your story through fun, natural photographs.
If you'd like to chat about your wedding plans, I'd love to hear from you.
